The Division of Addiction Medicine is a part of the Department
of Psychiatry and the Evelyn F. & William
L. McKnight Brain Institute at the University
of Florida (MBI-UF). The Division of Addiction Medicine is devoted to
developing a new awareness in the medical community of the significance of the
role of prevention and intervention in nicotine, alcohol and other drug use.
The objective of the Division of Addiction Medicine is to improve the quality of life and reduce suffering associated with addiction.
This is accomplished by enhancing the understanding and competency in Addiction Medicine and drug prevention education of medical students, medical residents, primary care practitioners and psychiatric specialists.
