Project SHAPE: Non-Medication treatment for 4-6 year olds with hyperactivity, at no charge
Project SHAPE is a great opportunity for families with an overly active child.
You may be eligible if your child:
· Is 4-6 years old.
· Is enrolled in daycare or school.
· Is overly active.
· Has behavior problems that are hard to control.
· Is not taking medication to control ADHD.
In this program, families participate in weekly sessions of PCIT (Parent-Child Interaction Therapy) at no cost. The program provides training for parents on managing their child’s behavior and improving their relationship with their child. All Project SHAPE participants will receive parking/travel allowances and childcare during sessions. OCD Treatment Study
Does your child need to do things over and over again? Have a fear of contamination or dirt? He or she may have Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). A research study on OCD is being conducted by UF Department of Psychiatry. Your child must be between 7-17 years old and in general good health. The study includes the following: office visits, medical exams, laboratory tests, psychiatric evaluations and supportive therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and study medication (sertraline or placebo). If eligible there is no cost to participate. Participants will be seen by board certified child psychiatrists, liscensed psychologists, and qualified study coordinators.
