a) Required both years
b) Faculty: Gary Geffken, Ph.D. and Eric Storch, Ph.D.
c) Qualified psychologist faculty teaches about the uses and interpretation of commonly used psychological testing procedures, such as the WPPSI-III, WISC-IV WAIS-III, WIAT-II, WJ-III, VABS, (M)CDI, Bracken, Bailey II, CDI, R-CMAS, CBCL, MMPI-A, PIC-II, VMI, PPVT-III and projective testing methods.
d) Other disciplines may attend with permission
e) 1 hour weekly for one month during both years.
f) Goal and objectives: The resident will gain knowledge of the various testing procedures used for children and adolescents with psychiatric disorders.
Knowledge:
- Ethical issues involved in psychological assessment.
- Purposes of the WPPSI-III, WISC-IV WAIS-III, WIAT-II, WJ-III, VABS, (M)CDI, Bracken, Bailey II, CDI, R-CMAS, CBCL, MMPI-A, PIC-II, VMI, and PPVT-III.
- Issues involved in the diagnosis of mental retardation and learning disabilities from the perspective of psychological testing.
- Issues of cultural diversity in psychological assessment.

- Respect for the roles of clinical psychologists and the contributions provided towards the assessment of patients through psychological testing
- Awareness and sensitivity of cultural differences among children and their families
