Florida Recovery Center
The Florida Recovery Center (FRC) at the University of Florida offers evaluation and treatment of children, adolescents, and adults with substance use problems. Under the leadership of Dr. Scott Teitelbaum, the program includes medical and psychiatric evaluation and management, detoxification, and relapse prevention. The FRC and the University of Florida College of Medicine's Division of Addiction Medicine provide academic support and ambiance to a program that is based on a goal of abstinence. The most sophisticated medical and neurological testing is available while at the same time we offer the most traditional time-tested addiction services and meetings. Thanks to a reputation for excellence, FRC has current inpatients from throughout Florida and many from out-of-state.
The program uses a continuum of care model including: (1) Inpatient treatment; (2) Partial Hospital treatment (accommodations may be arranged); (3) Intensive outpatient treatment; and (4) specialized programs for Impaired professionals; Boundary violators; Adolescents; and Pain management.
